SINGING WITH MIKIS

A Mikis Theodorakis Cinematic Concert

Maria Farantouri and Mikis Theodorakis share the stage once more in SINGING WITH MIKIS. Farantouri performs his music live, accompanied by an instrumental ensemble, while exclusive film footage and original recordings bring Theodorakis’s voice and words into the concert. His presence becomes part of a moving dialogue with Farantouri’s performance.

Film, lighting and visual staging are woven into the concert. Liquid Staging brings these elements together, allowing archive and live performance to meet on stage.

SINGING WITH MIKIS offers a new way to experience Theodorakis’s music and the artistic connection between the composer and the singer who gave voice to so many of his songs.

Concept, direction and Liquid Staging: Asteris Kutulas

Overall responsibility and production: Alexandros Karozas, colleague and friend of Mikis Theodorakis.
