On the occasion of his 100th birthday, Farantouri returns to the stage with a remarkable tribute.
A Vision in Sound
Traditional instruments — bouzoukis, santouri, laouto, violin and clarinet — merge with masterful arrangements to create the distinctive musical language that made Theodorakis the voice of an entire people.
The performance is brought to life by Estoudiantina Neas Ionias under the artistic direction of Andreas Katsigiannis, one of Theodorakis’ closest musical companions.

"Greece on Tour" Pays Tribute to Mikis Theodorakis with a Stunning Homage
Mikis Theodorakis, a renowned Greek composer, conductor, and politician, was born on July 29, 1925, on the island of Chios and passed away on September 2, 2021, in Athens. As one of the most prominent figures in Greek music, Theodorakis profoundly shaped and defined the genre.
In a special concert honoring the composer, Maria Farantouri, a legendary interpreter of Theodorakis' works, captivates the audience with her powerful and soulful voice. To this day, she is considered the Greek Theodorakis performer. Her concerts stand as a testament to the timeless and unforgettable nature of Theodorakis’ music. When Maria sings, the composer’s presence is deeply felt.
This concert offers a unique opportunity to celebrate the profound connection between Theodorakis and Farantouri and to acknowledge their enduring impact on Greek musical culture. Accompanied by top-tier instrumentalists, Farantouri will perform songs from all periods of Theodorakis' oeuvre, including the iconic Mauthausen Trilogy.
